Rusty anchorages, cracked rubber seals and dented bumpers are among the most common reasons to replace the bumpers on a 240 or 260. Year and market matter a great deal here: early 1975-80 cars use one type of mounting, while the 1981 facelift and the larger 1986 version brought new designs. US cars were also fitted with heavier so-called shock-absorber members that do not fit the EU models.
