Loose moldings, missing fasteners and rust behind the chrome are classic inspection points on a 145 wagon approaching 50 years old. This category gathers trim moldings and the associated small parts that keep the body's side line intact on the five-door model from 1967 to 1973.

The group includes the trim molding and complete trim moldings, a junction for longer sections, plus the fasteners and nut that secure the molding to the plate. The fasteners and nuts in particular are often the first to fail – a new molding rarely sits firmly if the old anchorages are tired, so they should be checked at the same time the molding is replaced. Length, profile and mounting points differ between the 142/144 and the longer 145 body, which makes the model and model year important for fit.
