Steering column Volvo 850

Play in the steering wheel, a clicking noise when turning the wheel or an airbag warning light that comes on can point to wear in the steering shaft and its parts. The slip ring (clock spring) is a common check point when the airbag or horn stops working, and the lock nuts should be checked at every service so that the steering hub and shaft sit without play.

This category gathers wear and service parts for the steering shaft on the Volvo 850 with a transverse 5-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive. The group includes a lock nut, cover, slip ring and flange lock nut. Because the design can vary between model years, it is wise to compare the part against the car's existing steering shaft before installation.
