Exhaust System Volvo 140 (1974) (B20E/F)
Rusted-through anchorages and cracked rubber hangers are classic wear points on the 140 Series exhaust system, and with the fuel-injected B20E/F from 1974 the pipes and joints sit exposed to both heat and road salt. When a bracket lets go, the system often starts rattling against the underbody, and leaking clamp joints give off the typical exhaust smell in the cabin.

This group includes clamps and brackets for hanging, the tailpipe, plus smaller mounting components such as nuts, washers, screws, anchorages and a knob – the parts needed when the joints are to be resealed and the system hung up anew. During a rebuild it is worth replacing clamps and rubber hangers in pairs, since a tired hanger quickly drags the next one with it as the weight shifts.
