A rough idle or increased emissions can point to a worn exhaust gas recirculation system, where a sticking EGR valve or leaking connections is often a common cause. On the Volvo 140 with the B20F, the valve, pipe and hose are exposed to heat and vibration, and over the years both seals and ferrules should be checked if a leak is suspected.

This category gathers the parts that belong specifically to this recirculation system. The group includes EGR valves, pipes and hoses, along with smaller sealing and connection parts such as copper washers, ferrules, nuts and plugs. During a rebuild, a typical check point is to replace the ferrule and the copper washer at the same time as the valve, so that the reassembled joints seal tightly. Since the design depends on engine and model year, it is worth checking the fit against your B20F before ordering.
