Camshaft kit with tappets for Volvo B30, K profile

Camshaft kit S for Volvo B30 with K profile. The profile is a step up from the standard camshaft and gives a mild performance upgrade with a power increase of approximately 25–40 hp. The camshaft works with both the original carburettor and fuel injection, and is OE-manufactured to Volvo specification.

The kit contains the camshaft and twelve tappets. A new camshaft run in against worn tappets wears out quickly, so new tappets are included. The camshaft bearings and pushrods are separate items — check them while the engine is already apart.

Installation

Lubricate the camshaft and tappets with running-in paste (molybdenum disulphide grease) before first start. Replace all tappets at the same time. Torque the camshaft nut to 80 Nm and secure it with a locking washer or thread locker. Set the valve clearance to 0.45–0.50 mm with the engine warm.

Good to know

An oil with a zinc additive protects the lobes and tappets during running-in and operation.
