Camshaft kit for Volvo 164, B30, profile C

Camshaft kit for the Volvo B30, the six-cylinder engine in the Volvo 164. Profile C was fitted as standard in all B30 engines, though not in marine versions. Tappets are included.

The camshaft is manufactured to Volvo's original specification. It restores the engine's original character when a worn original camshaft needs replacing. A new camshaft run in against worn tappets is quickly damaged. That is why new tappets are included.

The camshaft bearing kit, spacer ring, key, locking bolt and pushrods are sold separately.

Fitting

Lubricate the camshaft and tappets with molybdenum disulphide grease running-in paste before the first start. Always fit new tappets together with the camshaft. Tighten the camshaft nut to 80 Nm and secure it with a tab washer or thread-locking compound. Set the valve clearance to 0.45–0.50 mm with the engine warm. Use an oil with a zinc additive during running-in and in normal use, as it protects the lobes and tappets against wear. Inspect the camshaft bearings and pushrods while the engine is apart anyway.
