Dim light output, cracked or stone-chipped glass and a strip that comes loose at the edges are the most common reasons for replacing headlamp parts on a 760 of model year 1988-89. The glass yellows and the reflector loses its shine over the years, giving poorer light without the bulb itself being faulty.

The group includes both complete headlamps and separate glass, strips, adjusting screws, adjusting devices, spacers, panel caps and bulbs – so you can replace the whole unit or just the worn part. Strips with broken mounting holes are a recurring issue; here it pays to check the mountings against the body at the same time.
When refurbishing the front lighting it is smart to look over the adjusting screws and adjusting device at the same time, so the setting holds after the replacement. Keep in mind that the design can differ between the left and right side and that the correct strip goes with the correct glass variant.
