Rust along the lower edge of the front fenders, down the rocker panels and around the headlight mounts is the most common reason to dig into the body on a 240/260. The sheet-metal work also differs between versions – the front end on USA and Canada cars, with their heavier bumpers, calls for different parts than the European model, and major facelifts came in model years 1981 and 1986.
