Components Trunk Volvo 240/260 (1975-78)

A stiff lock, a lock catch that won't engage, or a trunk lid that draws in moisture are among the most common annoyances on an early 240/260 sedan. Over the years the seal dries out, the handle becomes brittle and the small screws rust in place – then it's the simple parts that decide whether the lid closes properly and keeps the trunk dry.

This category brings together wear parts and fastening components for the trunk lid lock and fittings on the sedan models from 1975-78. The group includes a trunk handle, lock catch and key blank for the lock bolts, plus a seal that seals against the body. For fitting and adjustment there's a screw, spring pin, flange nut and sleeve.

A typical checkpoint during a restoration is to replace the seal at the same time as the lock catch is adjusted – a worn seal combined with a misaligned catch causes both leakage and a lid that has to be pushed hard to close.
