Slow starts, uneven idle and choppy throttle response on a B20D are often caused by a worn distributor – play in the shaft, a burned rotor arm and oxidized contact surfaces disturb the ignition timing. This category gathers the ignition system parts for the 140 Series with the B20D engine, so the entire ignition chain can be gone through in one pass.

The group includes a distributor and rotor arm, ignition cable sets, spark plugs, lock washer, seal and grease for lubrication during installation, plus a decal. When rebuilding, the distributor's shaft play and the rotor arm's condition are typical checkpoints – along with the ignition cables' insulation, which cracks over the years and causes arcing in damp weather. The B20 engine is a four-cylinder OHV, and many choose a breakerless or 123 distributor for a more stable spark. The spark plugs are best replaced at the same time as the cables and rotor arm for a complete result.
