A loose-fitting hood, a worn hood lock control or rusty mountings are common on the 164 after decades of use – and it's the small fasteners that decide whether the hood stays put and closes correctly. This category gathers parts for the front end and hood on the Volvo 164 of model years 1969–1975, where the front of the body essentially shares its interface with the 140 series.

The group includes screw, washer, spring washer, wave washer and clamp for mounting, plus hood lock control, bracket and retainer that govern how the hood is latched and supported. When restoring the front, the hood lock control and its bracket are typical checkpoints – a stiff or misadjusted control means the hood won't want to release or close properly. Remember that spring and wave washers should be replaced together with the screw so the mounting doesn't work loose from vibration.
