Play in the pedal mounting or a stiff, sloppy brake pedal can point to a worn pedal shaft or dry bushings – a common checkpoint on the 444, 544 and 210/445 that have been rolling since 1947. On these single-circuit brakes a steady pedal movement matters extra, since the entire hydraulic pressure is built on one circuit.

This group includes parts belonging to the pedal mounting and sealing: pedal shaft, return spring, lock ring, grommet, seal and gasket set as well as a rubber pad kit and grease for installation. When restoring, it is worth checking that the return spring pulls the pedal back fully and that the grommet against the floor panel keeps out moisture. Year and version determine the fit, so compare measurements before replacing.
