When replacing a molding, it's worth checking that the right fastener type is used – the anchorages vary between molding profiles, and the wrong fastener gives either play or tension in the sheet metal. During a restoration it pays to renew all the fasteners along a molding at the same time, since aged metal tends to crack on removal.
