The group includes alternators, tensioning arm and protecting casing as well as the mounting kit's hexagon screw, nut, screw and washer that hold the unit in place. There is also a capacitor for interference suppression. During an alternator overhaul, belt tension, bearing play and the condition of the tensioning arm are typical checkpoints – a worn tensioning arm causes a slipping belt and undercharging. Always check the mounting screws and washers against the diesel engine's vibrations before fitting a new alternator.
