Grease Volvo 140/164

Dry wheel bearings starting to squeal or a camshaft being broken in during a rebuild are two occasions when the right grease makes a difference. This group gathers lubricants for the Volvo 140 and 164 – from classic wheel bearing grease to copper grease for threads and brake components exposed to heat.

The group includes grease, copper grease, cam paste and assembly paste such as Plastilube, plus products from Castrol and Bar's. When packing the front axle wheel bearings, a heat-resistant bearing grease is a typical checkpoint – too little or the wrong grease gives short service life. Cam paste is used when breaking in a new camshaft and lifters, while copper grease protects the brake's sliding surfaces and threads against seizing. Always check that the grease type suits the application before assembly.
