Wiper arm hub – Volvo Amazon, P1800 Electrolux 8 mm

Hub for the wiper spindle and wiper arm on Volvo Amazon and P1800 with the Electrolux wiper system. The hub is intended for an 8 mm wiper spindle.

During fitting, the wiper spindle cuts the internal splines in the hub itself. The hub's inner diameter is therefore slightly less than 8 mm to begin with.

Fitting

Remove the old hub by carefully prising it off or by using a small puller.

Fit the new hub with a drop of suitable retaining compound and carefully tap it onto the wiper spindle. During fitting, the knurled spindle forms the internal splines of the hub.

At the same time, support the wiper mechanism from inside the car so that the mechanism is not strained or damaged when the hub is tapped into place.

Good to know

It is normal for the new hub's internal dimension to be slightly less than 8 mm. The hub is made this way because the wiper spindle forms the internal splines during fitting.

Different versions of wiper systems may occur. Check that the car has the Electrolux system and an 8 mm wiper spindle before ordering.
