Voltage regulator for Volvo with 55 A alternator and separate, externally mounted regulator.

The new type of regulator requires a separate earth connection to the car's chassis. Older regulators were earthed through the regulator housing.

Important information

On some cars only 2 pins in the regulator connector are used. These cars lack the extra earth connection that the new regulator requires.

If only two pins are connected, a separate earth lead must be fitted to the free pin and connected to chassis earth.

Therefore, check the connector and the earth connection when fitting.
