Camshaft left – Volvo 260, 760 (B27/B28 V6)

Camshaft for the left cylinder bank on Volvos with the B27/B28 (PRV) V6 engine. Unlike the straight four-cylinder engines, the V6 has one camshaft per cylinder bank – this one fits the left side.

A worn camshaft causes rough running and reduced power, and in the worst case it can damage other engine parts. Replace it with a new one to restore the original character and reliability of the engine in your Volvo.

Important when fitting

This is a so-called interference engine – pistons and valves share the same space.

Always fit new tappets together with the camshaft, and use running-in paste on the lobes and tappets. A new camshaft run in against worn tappets is quickly damaged – and the B27/B28 is particularly sensitive to cam wear, so correct running-in is especially important.

We recommend an oil with a zinc additive during running-in and normal use, as it protects the lobes and tappets against wear – for example Kendall 20W50 or 10W40.
