SAE standard J1404 = DIN-ISO 3996

Important to check

It is important to replace the brake hoses before it is too late. Inspect for leaks, cracks and compression damage at least every 50,000 km or every three years.

An old or damaged brake hose absorbs water, affecting the boiling point of the brake fluid. This may lead to reduced braking performance and decreased safety.
