Alternator AC Volvo Amazon
A flickering charging control lamp, a weak battery in the morning or a generator howling in its bearings – the charging system is one of the areas that ages early on a 122. The original DC generator was replaced on many cars with an alternator, which gives steadier charging even at low revs and suits the 12-volt system that arrived in August 1961 with the B18.
