Rusty and porous brake pipes are a classic find under a 122 with the B20 engine, especially the longitudinal pipes that sit unprotected against splash and salt. On the late cars with dual-circuit brakes it is extra important that the entire line run stays tight – the circuit split gives some reserve, but a leaking nipple or cracked hose still reduces brake feel.

This group includes brake pipes and ready-made brake pipe kits, brake hoses and brake hose kits, nipples, and clamps for securing the pipes along the underbody. For installation there is also plastilube and grease that counteracts seizing in threads and joints. The families cover both front and rear so the whole system can be redone in one go.
During a rebuild, a typical checkpoint is to inspect the inside of the hoses – a hose that looks intact can be swollen internally and act as a check valve, which causes the brakes to drag. In that case, replace the entire hose kit rather than individual parts.
