Rusty brake pipes and cracked brake hoses are classic finds when a B18 122 with a single-circuit system is taken apart. On a car with a single-circuit master cylinder, a leak at a single point means all braking effect disappears – which is why the condition of the pipes and hoses is one of the most important things to check during a restoration.

Going through the entire circuit gives a tight and reliable hydraulic system on the older single-circuit brake.
