The group includes ball studs and ball joints that take up the play in the joints, springs and spring retainers for reliable return, plus washers, nuts and bearings that hold the linkage in place. Knobs for lever and control are included too. During a rebuild, worn ball joints and tired return springs are the typical points to check – replace them all together and you avoid the gas sticking or returning sluggishly.
