Vibrations from the fan assembly or a fan that has started to rub against the cover can point to worn mounting points rather than the fan blade itself. On the B20 engines in the 140 Series, the fan sits on a clutch flange in front of the water pump, and the mounting in particular is a common checkpoint when overhauling the cooling system.

This category brings together fan-related mounting parts for the Volvo 140 with B20 between 1969 and 1972. Note that these are mechanical mounting parts for the belt-driven fan – not an electric fan motor. The group includes clutch flanges, spacers, screw, nut, washer and spring washer, as well as O-ring and cap. The spacers control the distance between the flange and the pump, which should be checked so that the fan runs centered and does not end up crooked in the cover. Have the right tools ready during disassembly and verify the dimensions and design against your own car before fitting, since the mounting and material thickness vary across the model years.
