Trunk Volvo 145 (1967-72)
Rust along the lower edge, loose hinges and tired gas springs that can no longer hold the hatch up are classic wear points on the large tailgate of the 145, the wagon body in the 140 series. Once the rubber seal no longer seals, moisture creeps into the cargo area and accelerates rust attack in the sheet metal seam.

Since the 145 is the five-door version with a tailgate, the parts differ from the smaller trunk lid of the sedan models, so always check against your version.
