Ring and pinion for the differential in the Spicer M27 rear axle. The ratio is 4.88:1 and the tooth count 39x8.

The Spicer axle can be recognised by the differential housing being covered by a sheet-metal cover. On the ENV axle, the differential is inserted into the axle housing from the front. The Spicer M27 has axle tubes with an outer diameter of 57 mm; the M30 has 63.5 mm tubes. The ratio is shown on a tag at the differential cover. On later axles, the information is on a plate under the axle.
