Fitting hardware and springs are subject to wear and lose tension over time. It is therefore recommended to replace the fitting kit when replacing the brake pads.

How to identify ATE: The pins are driven in and held in place by clamping sleeves. On systems such as Girling, the pins are instead secured with retaining clips.
