Important Information – Check the Steering Rack

The Volvo 940 may be equipped with steering racks from different manufacturers. On the vehicle identification plate in the engine compartment, the last digit of the lowest service number identifies the steering rack manufacturer:

• 1: Koyo

• 2: CamGear

• 3: ZF

• 4: TRW

Check the steering rack and thread dimensions before ordering, as different tie rod end versions are available.

Good to Know

The tie rod end is sold individually. Two tie rod ends are required per vehicle, one on each side.

Worn joints, bushings and rods should be inspected regularly. When replacing a tie rod end, we also recommend inspecting the other steering components and performing a wheel alignment after installation.
