Oil separator, also known as an oil trap, for Volvo 850, S70 and V70 with 5-cylinder 10-valve engine. The oil trap is an important part of the crankcase ventilation system and collects oil mist and deposits from the engine.

Over time, the oil trap fills up with dirt and oil residue. If it becomes clogged, the crankcase ventilation may work less effectively, which can lead to excess pressure in the engine and in some cases oil leaks. It is therefore wise to replace the oil trap at regular intervals so that the crankcase ventilation works as it should.

Fits the following Volvo models

• Volvo 850 5-cylinder 10-valve engine, from 1993

• Volvo S70 all 5-cylinder 10-valve engines, 1997–2000

• Volvo V70 all 5-cylinder 10-valve engines, 1997–2000

Important to note

Only fits cars with a 10-valve engine.

Always check that the oil trap looks the same as the one fitted to the car.

If the older original oil trap with part number 6842718 is being replaced for the first time, it is also recommended to replace the connecting hose with part number 1271653 or 1271771. This oil trap replaces the older model.
