How to read the exploded diagram
The position names come from Volvo's original catalog — they are the parts catalog's own designations. Go by the position number in the drawing and the OE number in the row; both are the same in every language.
The group numbers follow the Volvo parts catalog: 2 Engine, 3 Electrical system, 4 Transmission, 5 Brakes, 6 Suspension/steering, 8 Body and interior, 9 Other equipment. Group 7 (Suspension and wheels) exists in several catalogs but is missing from the Amazon, 1800 and 164 catalogs.
The type codes indicate the body variant, for example on the Amazon: P 120 (4-door), P 130 (2-door), P 220 (wagon) — body shape determines fitment, not the engine.
The page number applies within the group — page 3 in group 8a is a different page from page 3 in group 2a.
"In range" means we can deliver that position right now. A gray position has not been linked to an item yet – contact us if you are looking for the part.
The engine facts (e.g. B18 · 1961–1968 · 1,778 cc) state the engine family's production years and displacement per Volvo Owners Club (volvoclub.org.uk) — it is not a fitment claim for your car. Always check against your chassis number.
