Front suspension Volvo 444/445 (1947-61)
Play in the steering, knocking over uneven surfaces and uneven tire wear often begins in the worn bushings and bearings of the front end. The 444/445's suspension with coil springs and Delco-type telescopic shock absorbers depends on the joints being free of play and all grease nipples taking grease – dry nipples are a classic cause of creaking and premature wear.
