Rough idle, sluggish cold starts and erratic revving are classic signs of a worn distributor in the B18A. Over time the shaft bearings develop play, the vacuum advance loses effect and the contact surfaces get sluggish – and since the B18 in the 544 and 210/445 runs 12 volts, you want the right components for the steady spark the engine was built for.
