Play in the gas pedal, a sluggish return or uneven throttle action can often point to worn ball joints and tired mounting points in the throttle linkage. On the 122 with the single-carburetor B16A (1,583 cc, 60 bhp from 1956), these small control parts are a common checkpoint when the rod no longer sits without play.

When rebuilding the control, it pays to replace the ball joints and washers at the same time, since a single worn joint is clearly felt in the pedal feel. Keep in mind that the design and mounting differ between variants – check that the parts fit the B16A in Vst version before installation.
