Hand brake Volvo Amazon B20 (1969-70)
A slack hand brake or a lever that won't hold the car on a hill is just as often down to tired fasteners and cracked boots as it is the cable itself. On the 122 with the B20 engine (1969-70 model years) the mounts are often badly corroded after decades, and that's when the small parts decide whether the job comes out clean.

This group includes the screw, lock nut, clamp and washer for securing the lever mechanism and cable guide, plus the seal, gaiter, grommet and spacer sleeve that protect and position the parts against the body and floor. When rebuilding the hand brake it's wise to replace cracked boots and hardened grommets at the same time the cable is adjusted – otherwise moisture gets in and the rust problem returns. The parts are gathered for the final-year B20 122 models.
