Volvo 940/960 Switches

Wipers that stop sweeping, turn signals clicking out of sync, or a dead relay click behind the instrument panel often stem from a tired switch or a worn-out relay. Switches work against a spring and contact surfaces that oxidise over the years, and relays for wipers, turn signals and cruise control are among the parts that first develop hard-to-find intermittent faults. On the 940/960 it pays to compare the relay's number against the original, since the functions differ between versions.
