A sluggish or scraping wiper arm on the light, or an arm that no longer rests correctly against the glass, can point to a tired bushing, a worn spacer sleeve, or a loose nut on the spindle. On the 240/260, the rectangular headlights were fitted with the facelift for model year 1981, and the arms are matched to that particular light shape – the fit should therefore be checked against the car's version before installation.

The group includes wiper arms, washer nozzles, spacer sleeves, bushings, washers, lock washers, cable terminals and nuts. When overhauling the headlight wiper, bushings and lock washers are typical points to check – they lose their grip over the years and give a loose arm.
