Temperature switch for the electric radiator fan / auxiliary fan on several older Volvo models with petrol engines. In some older spare parts catalogues, this part may be referred to as a thermo-time switch, but technically it is a temperature switch for the radiator fan.

The switch turns the fan on at approximately 95 °C and off at approximately 90 °C.

Good to know

On some models, the temperature switch is fitted in connection with the radiator hose and is used to activate the electric auxiliary fan when the coolant temperature becomes high.

Despite being referred to as a thermo-time switch in some older spare parts catalogues, it is not a cold-start sensor for the fuel injection system.
