Cometic MLS Head Gasket 97 mm – Volvo B23, B230
Head gasket from Cometic for Volvo B23 and B230 engines. The gasket consists of three layers of steel, known as MLS (Multi Layer Steel), and is suitable for engines with a 96–97 mm cylinder bore.
Suitable for engine rebuilds and engines where an MLS head gasket is required.

Important installation information
The gasket must be installed dry, without additional sealant or adhesive. Cometic MLS gaskets already have a thin Viton rubber coating on the outer steel layers. Additional sealant can interfere with the function of the gasket.
Both the cylinder head and engine block must be completely flat, and the sealing surfaces must be clean and in good condition.
A surface finish of 50 RA or finer is recommended. A rougher surface may prevent the MLS gasket from sealing correctly.
Good to know
ARP cylinder head bolts or cylinder head bolts with a 12.9 strength rating are recommended for installation.
Follow the correct tightening torque and installation instructions for the cylinder head bolts being used.
