The four hydraulic drums on a 544 long ran on a single-circuit brake system – a single leak emptied the whole system and knocked out braking. That is exactly why wheel cylinders, hoses and shoes are recurring items when a 444, 544 or 445 is put back into service. Equally common is work around the B4B, B16 and B18 engines, from ignition and carburetor to gaskets.
