Volvo PV/Duett Engine Parts

Which engine generation sits in front of the windshield determines everything when ordering parts: the small 1414cc B4B from the early 544 years, the intermediate B14A and 1583cc B16, plus the later 1778cc B18 with a five-bearing crank and 12V electrics. Cover, cylinder head gaskets, valve components and seals differ between these blocks, so the wrong engine code often results in a leaking gasket or parts that don't fit.
