Play in the selector, a gear position that sits loose, or a kickdown that won't engage are among the most common complaints on the 122 with the BW35 automatic. Over time the bushings dry out and the return springs lose their tension, which makes the position between P, R, N and D feel vague and means the kickdown contact no longer delivers full throttle when overtaking.
