Front section/Hood Volvo Amazon (B16)
Rust attack at the hood's front edge, loose hinges and cracked rubber bottoms are common on the early 122 cars with the B16 engine. A classic checkpoint during reassembly is the rubber stop against the hood's front edge – dry and collapsed bottoms cause a rattling hood and can scuff the paintwork over time. Replace them at the same time as the grommets while the front end is taken apart anyway.
